Looking for something yummy to take to a game night or just to munch on while watching your favorite television show with the hubs? Look no further. My oh my, what is not to love about bacon and cheese?!?!?! This dip is heavenly. We ate half of it with crackers, then the next day we spread it on french bread and toasted it in the oven till it was all melty for lunch... both ways were to die for. This dip comes together in just a few minutes... the hardest part is cooking the bacon!
Ingredients:
1/2 pound bacon, cooked up nice and crisp in little crumbles
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayo
2 cups cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dry mustard powder
4 dashes Cholula hot sauce
4 green onions, finely chopped
4 Tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
I find the easiest way to cook bacon when I need it crispy and chopped/crumbled, is to use my kitchen shears to cut multiple pieces of the raw bacon at a time in to thin strips right in to the frying pan, then fry it up. The bacon will separate in to little pieces as you cook it. Then you can just drain off all the fat and put the pieces on a paper towel to cool while you mix up the other ingredients.
Throw everything else, (except the bacon), in a mixing bowl and combine well. Add the bacon once it is cool. Refrigerate at least an hour before serving it. We love serving with Nabisco's Chicken in a Biskit crackers the best, but really, any crackers or torn up bread will do. :)
