Chicken Teriyaki Marinade

With the warmer weather coming earlier this year, we decided to grill today.  I had some boneless chicken thighs that were begging to bathed in this simple teriyaki marinade.  Just mix up all the ingredients in a gallon size storage bag, add chicken, and throw in the refrigerator for at least a few hours for best results.  Remove from the marinade and grill.  What you get is tender chicken with some nice caramelization on it thanks to the sugar.

1 cup sugar
1 cup soy sauce
6 tablespoons cider vinegar
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
3/4 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon pepper
